agree  Adrian MM. (X): also with Kim's first but not second point. In UK CTT/capital transfer taxes days of old, the donor used to bear the primary - and the donee - the secondary liability for coughing up the tax. www.rws-verlag.de/bgh-free/volltext6/vo77495.htm
