German term or phrase: Ansatz
I am translating a letter from a Stastsanwalttschaft issuing a fine.

One of the headings in the invoice is "Gegnetand des Ansatzes". Examples of the Gegenstände include "Gebühr für Strafbefehl".

Ansatz has so many possible translations but am I right in thinking "appropriation" is the most elegant here - thus giving "subject of the appropriation" or would it be better to put it simply as "reason for the fine"?

Item billed (Gegenstand des Ansatzes)
Explanation:
I am looking at Duden, No 7.
Perhaps this could apply to an item that has been calculated on an invoice?
