supplementary allowance Explanation: The pension for the surviving spouse is made up of different components. Firstly, there is the flat-rate Grundrente. The supplementary Ausgleichsrente is also flat-rate, but is only granted to the spouse who, due to certain circumstances, is expected to be unable to earn any income; it is means-tested. If the spouse earns an income amounting to less than half the amount which would have been earned by the deceased person, there is a right to the compensation of losses in her/his development in professional life Berufsschadensausgleich. http://www.ntpu.edu.tw/sw/temp/I_20080928213647.pdf |

compensation pension Explanation: Is this anything to do with wartime compensation or just a pension for dependents? -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 31 mins (2009-05-20 13:49:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I actually meant dependent as in a surviving spouse who had been dependent on her husband financially while he was alive -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 48 mins (2009-05-20 14:05:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I notice that IATE translates it as "disablement pension" though I would have thought "disability pension" was better Reference: http://www.ajr.org.uk/pensions |
