deposit-slip donor Explanation: Thanks to Chris for the reference, but I don't agree with his translation. These pieces of paper are called deposit slips, and also known as paying-in slips in my native UK. The charity sends them out to its supporters, preprinted with its bank details. The supporters fill in their details, and take the cash and the deposit slip to the bank. The bank transfers the donation to the charity. They're a bit oldfashioned now, but a lot of charity supporters are older people who want nothing to do with online banking. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 3 hrs (2019-11-02 00:23:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Here's an example. You can either print it out yourself, or the charity will print it for you. http://zahlschein.brot-fuer-die-welt.de/ |
