German term or phrase: Investitionsvermögen
This question specifically relates to the Investment Code, of which I cannot find a translation.

I'm finding different translations for Investitionsvermögen.

BaFin uses "investment fund" (http://www.bafin.de/SharedDocs/Veroeffentlichungen/EN/Jahres...
The KAGB hinges on the new definition of investment fund (Investmentvermögen) because it is this which determines whether the KAGB applies. An investment fund is any collective investment undertaking which raises capital from a number of investors with a view to investing it in accordance with a defined investment policy for the benefit of those investors, and which is not an operating company outside the financial sector. The KAGB covers all investment funds, regardless of their legal form and regardless of whether they are open-ended or closed-ended funds.

Norton Rose uses "investment assets".

In its translation of the Investment Tax Act, Freshfields uses "investment asset pool", a term I have also found elsewhere.

My text says that from a legal perspective the term "Investmentfonds" no longer exists and the Investment Code uses "Investmentvermögen" when the conditions set out in the definition have been met.

My gut feeling is to use "investment fund" on account of AIF, but I'd like to have a second opinion.

Investment fund
Explanation:
If BaFin (which, at the end of the day, will have to approve the official translation of the KAGB) calls an Investmentvermögen an investment fund on its Web site (not just once, but several times), then that is the translation I would go with.

"section 331 (2) sentences 2 and 3 of the KAGB in conjunction with the
“Regulation on the electronic notification procedure for domestic
investment funds and EU investment funds under the German
Investment Code (Verordnung zum elektronischen Anzeigeverfahren für
inländische Investmentvermögen und EU-Investmentvermögen nach
dem Kapitalanlagegesetzbuch – EAKAV)” issued by BaFin."
