Grundsätzlich erfolgt die Auswahl der Zielfonds, die zum Handel im [XXX] bestimmt sind, durch einen selbst definierten Volatilitätsindikator. Hunderte zugelassener Fonds werden mit Hilfe dieses Indikators permanent auf ihr Preis- und Schwingungsverhalten gescannt.

I'm not sure what the correct lingo would be in English. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you. Though "volatility pattern" was a good alternative, I feel that "fluctuation rate" was the best choice in this case since there were separate mentions of "Volatilität" throughout the text, and I did not want to overuse that term. I appreciate everybody's help very much.

I am just wondering whether the author was just trying to make an overly "clever" move to avoid repetition (using the synonym "Schwingung" instead of "Volatilität"). See "Volatilitätsindikator" in the preceding sentence.

"Ihr Preis- und Schwingungsverhalten" might thus be translated as "their pricing and volatility patterns".
