Explanation:
For example: If you buy 100 shares. Instead of having 1 Share-Certificate with 100 shares, you can have 10 Share-Certificates with 10 shares each. Or have 5 Shares certificates with 20 shares each. This easy outs the selling process if you want to sell only a few shares out of the whole 100 bunch.
