This is a fun one...and after catching a virus doing resarch on the respective sites I decided it might be a better idea to ask here :-)

This is a in the FAQ of a dating site, describing what they won't do:

"Wir vermitteln keine Sexkontakte"

Here my question: is "sex contacts" really used in english in this context.. meaning finding people to have sex...

and how in heavens would you translate "vermitteln" here??
broker, arrange etc sounds strange as if they would be saying they aren't pimps.

...Hey,.. I noted it might be offensive ;-)

or if it's more of a warning:

"This site is not to be used as a forum for making contacts for sexual purposes"

And yes, you can catch some nasty viruses from frequenting the wrong sort of web site ;-))))

neutral  Hilary Davies Shelby: i don't think you can "place" a contact. Place an ad, maybe, if it's a sort of "personals" web site where people post ads?
