selbst oder durch Dritte

English translation: use any information personally or through/via third parties

Law/Patents - International Org/Dev/Coop
German term or phrase: selbst oder durch Dritte
Der Informationsempfänger verpflichtet sich ohne ausdrückliche Zustimmung des Informationsgebers keine Informationen selbst oder durch Dritte zu verwenden.

This is part of a Confidentiality Agreement between two companies

Which pronoun would be suitable here. In the whole text the companies are referred to as Recipient and Discloser, so what would be suitable? Itself - since it is a company or himself since the pronoun refers to Recipient ?

Maybe it is a silly question, but I am really puzzled.

Thanks in advance

neutral  philgoddard: There's no way it can be "himself".

-> themselves, then, as a gender-neutral solution. however, the recipient is singular.

disagree  AllegroTrans: No, we are dealing with companies// a company is an "it" you cannot possibly give it a male gender in English

-> In the singular?// Yet the recipient is human, basically made up of people. Were it in the plural, this would be themselves. Unfortunately, it is not.

Don't think you need the Selbst part...
