German term or phrase: Stammbaum
I'm rather unsure about the correct term for "Stammbaum" in the context of genetic sequencing. My context is something like this (paraphrased here):

I suspect the Stammbaum is the phylogenetic DNA profile. Does this sound about right?

“The results of the DNA sequencing can be seen in these peaks, each of which represents one base pair in the genetic code. From these patterns we can reconstruct the genetic relationships. The information contained in each gene of the fungi is used to derive this matrix, from which we can then construct the phylogenetic profile.”

Many thanks! I haven't added it to the KudoZ open glossary as it is so context-specific.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Note to KARIN ISBELL: No, in this context it is not a family tree.
