Actually, I think it's Heiß/Kalt - just remembered there was a section earlier in the text entitled "Umschaltung HEISS/KALT"! So that would be it. Heizung/Kühlung might also fit in some contexts. This case, at least, is closed! Thanks Bob - appreciate your help.
