German term or phrase: Kühlauszug
"[0-0] Umluftkühleinsatz
[0-1] Warmhalteplatte
[0-2] Pralinen-Klimaeinsatz
[0-3] Kühlwanne
[0-4] Kühlplatte
[0-5] Kühlauszug
[0-6] Kühlunterbau
[0-7] Bain-Marie"

From instruction manuals for some sort of food-cooling device. I'm not sure what the device is, but here's something from further along in the text that explains its purpose:

" [2-1]

The "Auszug" part of the word makes no sense whatsoever in this context, unless it means something like "extract". It doesn't have some specific meaning in Austrian German, does it? TIA for any light you can shed on this obscure term.

pull-out chiller tray
Explanation:
Perhaps......

I am thinking of some kind of tray or shelf that can be pulled out to take out the snack or the cake and then pushed back in again.

I thought of drawer, but a drawer is usually quite deep and this is supposed to be something fairly flat.

The \"Fächer\", you refer to, Rowan, could simply be compartments that you don\'t necessarily pull out.

It was really hard to choose between this answer and Trudy's, but after further research, I have decided that chiller tray, or "pull-out" chiler tray, is probably most likely what is meant. For Kühlfach I think I'll go with cooling compartment. Thank you both very much for your assistance - much appreciated. Sorry I took so long to grade this. It's taken me until today to finish the job, so final decisions on what to call various things are now being made! Anyway, thanks again - and also to the peer graders. Appreciate everyone's help.

agree  Trudy Peters: True, could be a tray, too. But there are also shallow drawers, they just have an edge around them.
