agree  Armorel Young: "Without burgers ..." is brilliant. I think you have to give any link between burgers and Buchenwald (even in jest, or particularly in jest) a very, very wide berth.

agree  CAK: Enough for all - more for me? -- Depending on the restaurant, "Give me burgers or give me death!" could work well, too. The Nietzsche one might be a bit 'highbrow' but works either way.

it's a Zuckmayer quote too, but this is surely no excuse. I hope the context is ironic and the customers are not supposed to pay for the food.

Years after Adorno, and the debate still continues.... I guess I found it a distasteful thing to put on a menu, but then again I have never heard anyone say this except in a very "aware" and ironic manner. But what do I know, my daughter's school motto is "serve and obey"- it is from one of the medieval London guilds but is coincidentally rather similar to one of the lines of the Treblinka song.
Anyway, how about: "All burgers are equal, but some burgers are more equal than others"?
