agree  Ingeborg Gowans (X): I actually had this idea before I even saw your answer"great minds think alike"?? or: ein blindes Huhn findet auch mal ein Korn (me); some days are not very productive

-> Good evening, Ingeborg. As KudoZians we need to be ‘more conscious’ of the great ideas waiting to be discovered in the inner recesses of the mind.

agree  Bernhard Sulzer: Live life more fully, enjoy it (what you eat) more fully - Reply: I didn't, but you gave me something to ponder

-> Thanks, Bernhard. I see you do not share my reservations about forming a comparative with an 'absolute' adj/adv. ;-)

Get more out of life - and the food you eat

Explanation:
Not a direct translation, mind you, but perhaps a bit easier to digest than some of the longer solutions proposed here.

Whatever you write, it should sound appealing (maybe even tasty?), get the nutritional message across, and capture the reader's attention.

There are 384,000,000 hits on Google for "get more out of life" - not that that necessarily means anything.

agree  Lancashireman: Very good, Paul. But haven't you learnt the google trick with double quote marks yet? http://tinyurl.com/2ng42t Your 384 zillion shrinks to a 'mere' quarter million.

-> Thanks for the tip, Andrew! Even an old translating dog can learn new tricks (and could probably learn even more if it ate organic full-grain müsli for breakfast).

agree  Ulrike Kraemer: Food should always be easy to digest. ;-) Hi Paul, long time no see! Everything ok up there in Greenland?

-> Hi, LittleBalu. Thanks for the warm welcome. I could use it: believe it or not, yesterday we were painting the garden shed and enjoying a cold beer on the deck in t-shirts, and today it's snowing.

agree  Francis Lee (X): You only just posted this, right? (i.e. while I was finding and pasting my link) Because I searched the page for "smart" before adding my answer. I guess today it was your turn to be "quicker than the human eye", right? ;-)

-> Great minds and all that ...

neutral  Lancashireman: See note to Francis.
3 hrs
-> Seriously, Andrew? I knew about the 'looking smart' vs. 'looking intelligent' distinction, but I thought 'being smart' meant the same in UK as in US English. I'll defer to a UK native on that point, though. And I do offer alternatives w/out 'smart'.

Smart(er) living, smart(er) eating

Explanation:
I'll throw this into the arena despite the context not being clear.

But once you know what is dangerous and dumb, you can make choices to sustain yourself and the industries that provide you with smart, **safe food.**
http://www.healthfreedomusa.org/index.php?page_id=323

There would be variations on this theme, e.g.
- Smart food for a smart lifestyle

--------------------------------------------------

- Organic food for an organic lifestyle (?)
- Sensible eating for sensible living (yawn ...)
... or something with "brain (food)" ...

neutral  Lancashireman: 'Smart v dumb' is very American, Francis. This would not be readily understood in the UK market where 'smart' refers to tidy appearance. // You may have been away too long. Marketing in the UK no longer favours the use of Americanisms.
3 hrs
-> Come off it, Andrew. So nobody in the UK says "you guys" either these days? You should know better, living in the 51st state ... (do Brits understand "smart cards" as "tidy technology", then?)/ The pace of Americanisation has at best slowed ...

Live more awarely, enjoy (what you eat) more awarely

Explanation:
I think "awarely" should be included in any translation of "bewusster ....", as, after all, it is intended to convey the very idea of awareness of how one leads one's life and what one eats. Sounds better to me too in the context than "consciously".

disagree  Francis Lee (X): This is a word-for-word translation and is IMO pretty poor on the stylistic front. CL5??/ "more awarely" gets a grand total of 32 Google hits and there's a good reason for that ...
1 hr
-> Does it matter if it's a word-for-word translation? What makes it so "poor on the stylistic front?" So long as we don't know the context, this is as good as anything else.
