neutral  Stephen Sadie: don't think so, otherwise Frischkäse would be one word written together

-> Well yes, however, bagel and cream cheese kind of go hand in hand...I guess we would need to know what country the menu is going to be used in. The German word doesn't really indicate what it is either....Anyway, I enjoy the answers and keep learning :-)

neutral  Stephen Sadie: sounds like a product from the company and not like a generic term where normally the freshness would be placed first

landfrisch Käse
traditional/farmers/natural/country-style (cottage) cheese

Explanation:
"landfrisch Käse" as it stands is obviously not right. I'd suggest country-style (etc.) cottage cheese for Landfrischkäse and just country-style cheese for "landfrische Käse" (if there is such a thing ...)
Knowing how it is served and what with etc. would help!

It could be a cream/curd cheese, as implied by many Web references Landfrischkäse, although this one
http://www.lafnitztaler.com/katalog1.htm
includes it on a cheese platter.
I'm sure more context would make matters less complicated ...
