Explanation:
I'm still not to sure about what they are actually trying to say with "wertbestimmend" but why not rephrase the whole thing like:

Yogurt powder solves this problem by adding to the value of products, e.g. ...

Or, sticking with "bestimmen":

Yogurt powder solves this problem by defining the value of products, e.g. ...

Or, maybe as an alternative, you could use properties instead of value.

neutral  Harry Borsje: rephrasing might help, but I think the word refers to the fact that the yoghurt powder contains the 'essence' of fresh yoghurt without the drawbacks

  -> This is certainly what they mean, but not necessarily what they say. "Wertbestimmend" apparently means that it is defining the whole, a key to the properties desired.
