German term or phrase: Klappbeschlag
"Klappbeschläge für Mülleimerklappen

Zum Anschrauben an bauseitige Klappe und bauseitigen Boden. Der ***Klappbeschlag*** wird in den Bodenbeschlag eingesteckt."

From a catering equipment catalogue. Talking now about waste disposal stuff. Any idea what a "Klappbeschlag" is? TIA for your help.

Thanks idwerk. You did mention "hinge", and I've decided to go for "lid hinge". So 4 more points to you. But thanks also to Lisa for a very reasonable suggestion - appreciate everyone's help.

Swing mechanism

Explanation:
Do they mean the mechanism which causes the bin lid to swing open when you press your foot on the pedal? If so, this would probably do.
