Da die einzig geregelte Größe während des Prozesses der Stauchdruck ist, sind die Verläufe von ***Stauchweg*** und Drehlage, trotz gleicher Schweißbedingungen, einer großen Streuung innerhalb einer Fertigungscharge unterworfen.
Dies hat zur Folge, dass im Anschluss an den Schweißvorgang aufwendige und kostenintensive Nacharbeit erforderlich ist. Um diese Zusatzkosten zu vermeiden und außerdem die Möglichkeit für ein drehwinkelgenaues Fügen zu ermöglichen, wurden Verfahren entwickelt, mit denen beide Größen innerhalb enger Toleranzen geführt werden können.
