neutral  Johannes Gleim: "custom sizes" trifft der Kontext nicht genau. "custom size" heißt "benutzerspezifisch". Motoren und Antriebe gibt es aber fast nur in genormten Baugrößen. Eine Leistungsanpassung ist so nur durch Ausrüstung mit Motoren verschiedener Größen möglich.

Worum geht es hier? Der Anbieter hat die Wahl, eine Batterie unterschiedlich großer Motoren aufzustellen, oder einen Motor mit Frequenzumformer zu betreiben. Verwendet er mehrere Motoren, so müssen diese (aus Kostengründen) grob abgestuft werden. Wie auch aus den Referenzen hervorgeht, passt „graduated“ mehr zu Feinabstufung.
