start-up pressure Explanation: I think that I know exactly what it means, if it is referred to a turbine - I've seen it and heard it - it's a phase typically characterized by a whistle-like sound of the vent of a turbo-system. In the first filling phase, for the start-up acceleration a certain pressure builds up, which exceeds the rated pressure necessary to the ordinary functioning of the turbine.
