Ausblasen

EN:
In a more favourable set-up, the slit drainage pipeline is kept open while the ***blowing out of blast air is underway***. -- ?

English translation:Air blowing (procedure/process)
Explanation:
I found a few articles talking about the cleaning process of pipelines (I am not entirely sure if your text talks about precisely this). But the term used in these texts is "air blowing" (and they also provide additional information about the procedure).

I also added a link to a German website, which contains the term "Ausblasen" when it comes to the check-up of water circuit systems, which, to my understanding, works with a similar method than the above-mentioned cleaning procedure:

I hope this helps.

I don't know ... I was actually looking for a pump turbine plant-related translation (it would be news to me if a pipe cleaning process was involved, but could be ... was rather thinking of vapor coming from the river/reservoir water being processed by the system being removed from the system in this way) and wasn't quite sure at the time whether it is really just plain air (of whatever type) that is blown out of the system as the schematic drawings wouldn't fully reveal themselves to me. Anyway, customer has safely received and acknowledged the translation. So the question was obviously not linguistic in nature, only technical.

Exhaust air flow

Explanation:
Seems like this involves exhaust air being blown out.
