Hi,

Is this really just "provides evidence of the physiotherapist being a certified developer of the profession" or is there more to it? (This term might be medical-educational or Swiss German in nature).

See I am not sure after doing about 9000 words of this even though the term crops up almost on a regular basis.

Die Abschlussarbeit oder das Abschlussprojekt ist ein Teil der Diplomarbeit (neben dem Praktikum und eventuell einer Präsentation).

The German definitely does not mean "career development specialist" and I doubt that it means "professional development specialist". Also, I needed a noun for textual and contextual reasons too complicated to explain right now. Philip's input "demonstrates" works well for me but his overall translation is not based on an "active" key noun, which is an issue in this particular case, as explained, never mind "English uses verbs rather than nouns to express concepts".

Being familiar with the language in curricula, I think your impression is correct, though I would use 'demonstrate' rather than 'certify'.

One finds the phrase quite a bit in research- or medical-related fields, see the title of the paper referenced below.
