I don't have any supplementary context to refer to, but I think this is correct in this case. 'Attika' seems to refer to the edge of the roof, which usually has low parapet if it is flat.

but parapet=Fensterbruestung, Brustwehr, which has little to do
with roof construction. In roof construction you would use the term
ledge, which means the overhang of the roof and prob. in your text
the best term to use, because a flat roof doesn't have an attic.
Aufkanten is tech. "abkanten," which in turn means:
1. Schraegkante-chamfer, beveled edge (Br. bevelled edge)
