German term or phrase: Ansetzer
My next questions for the roofing experts out there concern the following terms:
Ansetzer
Fußausbildung
Lattenteilung

All are found within the same source text for an Austrian roofing materials manufacturer:

"TRAUFENAUSBILDUNG
Unterleger = *Lattenteilung* der Fläche
Ansetzer = Lattenteilung + Übergriff"

So far I'm translating Ansetzer as "support" (base?) until I can find a better solution that fits this context.

Same goes for Fußausbildung, which I’ve merely described as “base structure // construction” so far.

But LATTENTEILUNG is a stumper for this roofing-newbie, UNLESS I can merely describe it quasi as LattenEINteilung or as Lattenabstand, i.e. "batten spacing" or "distance between battens" or ____.

Would any roofing experts out there concur with these word choices?

Some info I've found:
1)
(sorry, I've lost the URL for this info:)

This has a good diagram + description/definition of Lattenteilung

sill, base structure
Explanation:
If this is about roofing tiles, maybe this is a hint:

I think you are on the right path for lattenteilung. Another word for battens is laths, and I have a strong feeling that in the US, "furring" is pretty much the same thing. Furring is strips of wood that are used to attach cladding materials, on walls or roofs.
