4 mins

agree  Björn Vrooman: Since I found the original document, I'll agree. In IT, it is utterly irrelevant what people might think is correct, though it would have been easier to know what's right if the program had been specified.
1 hr

agree  Alexandra Hirsch (X): Yes, because SAP has the "Funktion Zurückladen", and they translated it as "reloading".
2 hrs

agree  Alexander Schleber (X): Having read the originalpage in the SAP handbook, I am convinced this is the right answer. It's data beinf "reloaded" into a database.

agree  Benjamin Morris: There are mixed meanings in all these terms: restore is often associated with lost or damaged data, reload is sometimes associated with reloading a page (more commonly, refresh). I think both work well.

-> I have used "restore" here because that's what I would view as the default in the absence of a more specific context.

agree  philgoddard: You could use "reload" for the second instance of the word, to avoid repetition. But I think Restore is the obvious name to give this function.
1 hr

agree  Chris Pr: From 'archived data' is the clincher...
1 hr

agree  Kurt Kruger: From my experience as an ex long-term IT person I'd use restore to recover data from an archive, quarantine or similar.
17 hrs

disagree  Björn Vrooman: I really wish I didn't have to do this, because yours is not wrong per se and you didn't have all the facts. But the above comment (made hours after I posted the relevant document) takes the cake. IT people know better than to change field names.

agree  Dorosh: I would absolutely use restore here

disagree  Benjamin Morris: True... but what does this have to do with the relocation of files from an archive to an active database?!
