I get what they mean but is there a verb that can be used here? Evaporate to fumes? until all fumes have... is fumes the right word??

Nach Einwaage erfolgt eine Zugabe von 1 ml Schwefelsäure 96 % (m / m), Anschliessend im Muffelofen bei folgendem Temperaturprogramm...bis die Flüssigkeit verdampft, die Schwefelsäure *abgeraucht* und bis am Ende des Glühvorganges alle schwarzen Teilchen entfernt sind. Nach dem Abkühlen des Tiegels auf Raumtemperatur im Exsikkator (siehe Abkühlzeit oben) den Tiegel zurückwägen (R).
