German term or phrase: finden ... zu den Straßen hin
Description of Roman "canabae" (large civilian settlements associated with a fort) of a "Tangential type" (this one is at Raphanae):

Die langgestreckte Fundverteilung auf der Ostseite unter Bezug auf zwei wichtige Straßenverbindungen aus deren Enden heraus, verbunden mit Friedhöfen ebenda insbesondere im Süden, machen sehr wahrscheinlich, dass der größte Teil der canabae sich entlang der Straße Apamaeia/Antiochia – Tripolis parallel zur Längsachse des Legionslagers erstreckte. **Hier fanden sich auch Gebäude mit Reihen von tabernae zu den Straßen hin.**

My draft of the queried sentence:
Buildings were also found here with rows of tabernae facing towards the streets.

I'm not sure whether the "hin" goes with the verb or with "zu," but in neither case can I be certain of the meaning.

Thanks!
