German term or phrase: Bordhöhe
Vor Einbau des Femi überprüfen, ob die Reduzierung der Bordhöhe auf 23mm, durchgeführt wurde.

Femi is Fertigungsmittel. Although it doesn't seem to occur in any of my aviation dictionaries, I'd guess that Bordhöhe would be boarding height. However, that would suggest we're talking about something like a "Niederflur" aircraft here, which seems rather less plausible. Or might it simple be being used in the general eng. sense, e.g. Bordhöhe = skirt length (http://www.ds-translations.at/glosde/b.htm)?

Explanation:
If it were a ship. Don't know if the same term can apply to any aspect of an aircraft.

What is it the Bordhöhe OF, and what's the Fertigungsmittel? That term could refer to any number of things. If we knew what the author specifically had in mind, it might help.

I'm still not sure what part of the aircraft "Bordhöhe" (or "Bord") refers to, but looking back at your cited text, it would seem to me that a boarding height of 23 mm would be a bit out of range, if that's the height of the passenger entry threshold above the tarmac.

Very many thanks. Sorry for the delay in closing the question! I'm not convinced that maritime terminologiy is necessarily applicable here, hence only 2 points.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Sorry, no idea what the Bordhöhe is of, but it is simply referred to as Bord subsequently. The Fertigungsmittel is the tooling used, specified by number. Could be just about anything.

Asker: That isn't actually strictly right, I know that it is of a helicopter. But more than that I don't know.

Asker: Elsewhere it also refers to the "oberen Bord": "Die Bohrvorrichtung für je 16 Annietmuttern Pos.64 um die beiden Durchbrüche und die 4 Annietmuttern am oberen Bord positionieren, ausrichten und fixieren."
