Explanation:
This really is a guess; I never had a pay-slip referring back to the month before last; "previous month's", yes, but this one does look odd. It may have to do with the fact that when you start work, the employer can keep the first month's pay "in hand", and there may be an arrangement whereby it is paid out a month (or two) later in this case.
