I have found "learner" as a possible translation but that doesn't seem to fit here...

C'était en anglais dans le texte français, mais cela reste à traduire, car peu de francophones comprendront cette expression qui, du reste, possède une traduction française. Alors, pourquoi s'en priver, ne pas achever de traduire et faire les choses proprement ? Si on commence à glisser sur la pente du mélange des langues dans une phrase, on finira par parler une langue incompréhensible et on ne pourra plus parler de traduction !
