French term or phrase: Conseil en propriété intellectuelle
Hi all,
I was wondering whether anyone knew how to formally address a conseil en propriété intellectuelle. Would it be correct to use "Maitre" as you would for a lawyer or would you simply use "Monsieur/Madame"?

Many thanks for your help.

Selected answer:Monsieur/Madame
Explanation:
Unless you know for sure that the person is, indeed, a French-speaking lawyer. It would be a worse gaff to call a real lawer 'Monsieur' than to call a non-lawyer, or a non-French-speaker, 'Maitre', methinks.
