(3 types of calculators) can be used within this tool/system/application Explanation: based on your other question as well, that the user will choose a calculator type, this is what I understood (3 types of calculator methods) can be used within this tool/system/application (3 types of calculators) are furnished within this tool/system/application It gives me the impression the software simulates 3 different calculator types and the user chooses which to use whenever -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 43 mins (2007-09-18 07:44:42 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Gita, as to your last question, sorry, I don't know if the sentence is specifically awkward. |

Not (really) awkward Explanation: Well, let's put it that way: when I first read it I just didn't notice there was a somewhat unusual structure to it (just thought of a possible translation); so I suspect other native speakers wouldn't notice either. In that sense it's not 'awkward'. That being said, after you drew my attention to it, I did feel this is a 'funny' way to put it (the kind that can lead to confusion). Hope this helps. As writeaway suggested, though, this is not really a translation question (provided, of course, that you're quite sure about what these calculators are and what the application does with them). |
