Hallo,

im Wikipedia-Artikel zu "malles automobiles" wird der eingesternte Begriff zwar erläutert, ich kann mir aber trotzdem nicht viel darunter vorstellen, vor allem verstehe ich nicht, warum ausgerechnet das zur Erfindung des Kofferraums inspiriert haben soll. (Wo ist der Zusammenhang?) Meine bisherige Lösung: "seitlich gleitfähiger Koffer". Danke für bessere Ideen!

Les premières automobiles n’avaient pas de coffre, si bien que, pour transporter ses bagages, on devait commander une malle à un malletier qui la confectionnait sur mesure. Le développement de l’automobile amène les fabricants à multiplier les innovations : la malle se place sur le marchepied ou s’arrime sur le toit, sa forme épousant celle de la carrosserie. Parfois, elle se fixe sur le porte-bagages à l’arrière, à l’aide de sangles. En 1928, XX invente *la malle à glissement latéral*, dont les carrossiers vont s’inspirer pour créer, dans les années 1930, le coffre intégré.
