A property owner is planning to develop a basement beneath their home, so an expert has been appointed in the context of a 'référé préventif' to assess the condition of neighbouring properties and ensure that the project will not create any issues for them. The expert has made the following recommendation: 'mettre en place des *cibles* sur les façades et pignon du [property address], pour le bâtiment du fond et sur le mur séparatif, mais également pour le [neighbouring property address], au niveau du mur visible côté travaux. Cela permettrait de suivre toute évolution éventuelle de ces bâtis riverains durant les travaux'. I've checked Dicobat, GDT and Termium to no avail ... I considered the term 'probe' but as it's such a specific term, I prefer to seek the advice of an expert. So any assistance you're able to give me would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Explanation:
Obviously some kind of surveying 'marker', from which they can check for any movement. I suspect the term in EN would be 'target' and the FR term is just a calque on that; but you might be able to research a bit further and see if any other term is used.

Explanation:
The way I understand it, is that these "cibles" on the other homes are marks to identify any change, disturbances, to these homes due to the construction of the basement.
