an important/significant print Explanation: I think "print" rather than "printing" since this single photograph is a concrete entity rather than an abstraction which will be hanging on a wall. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 24 mins (2009-04-02 14:59:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Damned time lag! Apologies to jlsjr for restating the later statement.... I think the meaning of "majeur" is just that of a major part of his/her oeuvre, eg one which might be used as a book cover, on a poster, or particularly highlighted in reviews etc. |
