French to English translations [PRO]
Social Sciences - Philosophy / Discussion of the philosophical basis of Gestalt psychology
French term or phrase: mastication créative
This is from an article on the origins of Gestalt psychotherapy in the work of various theorists. The sentence reads: "Avec une telle hérédité, comment ne serions-nous pas tentés de pursuivre notre mastication créative en contact avec nos contemporains, tant patients que théoricians et collegues". As you can see, we are in the realms of academic discourse here, so 'chewing over' is not an option! Any suggestions gratefully received!

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thank you Emma, it's a good suggestion, but I think I will go with Kashew's suggestion of creative ruminations in this context. Thanks for contributing.
