Dutch flute

Explanation:
I believe that it may be referring to a type of glass/flute. See link below for pictures (page 35, top shelf, forth glass from the last one).

neutral  Ph_B (X): Can't access your ref, but going from fifre ("fife") through flûte(!)/"flute", then to "champagne flutes", is hard to imagine, esp. since they're small and delicate, unlike barriques etc., which makes them sit awkwardly in this list.

neutral  Tony M: Like Ph_B, I think there is a less tenuous, more direct link here, as i think Wendy has identified.

neutral  Yvonne Gallagher: can't see how that fits in the list...

One thousand vines generally produce a pipe of wine, and the total number of vines in the Port-wine Districts above described may be estimated at 90,000,000.

agree  Tony M: I was going to say something like that, and the Dutch were great traders in wine... A 'fife' is only one special kind of 'pipe'.

-> Thanks, Tony. Was really a shot in the dark.
neutral  Ph_B (X): Found a reliable def that supports your ref (https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/pipe) and "cask" could definitely be part of the list quoted by Bashiqa, but what's the link between fifre hollandais ("fife" in E) and "pipe"/"cask"? See discussion.

-> Found a definition explaining a pipe as a kind of cask, but somehow lost it before I had posted it.
