French to English translations [Non-PRO]
Names (personal, company) / conversation in an Central African Repulic document
French term or phrase: papa
How would you translate "papa" before a person's last name? Mr? Is this sort of like the "Don" used in Spain? Clearly they're not talking about their dad, but I've never seen this before.

As per my discussion post, at the beginning of the posting last night

Could it actually be a name? This musician calls himself "papa Wemba"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papa_Wemba

This may be a play on words as the name is not the musician's original name, but it still could be used as a name.
