technique des "bouchons"

English translation: Cork gnawing test or cork gnawing method

French to English translations [PRO]
Medical - Medical: Pharmaceuticals / trial conducted on a medicinal product tested on animals
French term or phrase: technique des "bouchons"
Context:
Les tests de l’évasion et de la planche à trous

Cette méthode nous paraît supérieure à la technique des ’’bouchons” car ses résultats ne semblent pas être sous la dépendance des modifications du tonus des animaux.

Is this a cork technique? Any ideas?

English translation:Cork gnawing test or cork gnawing method
Explanation:
I found a document that lists the different methods used for testing neuropharmaceuticals in rats and mice. On page 9+10 you can find the so called "cork gnawing test".
I also found another paper were the cork gnawing method has been used to test an anxyolitic.

The only thing I do not quite understand is why the cork gnawing test should be more influenced by the tonus than the two other tests, but maybe it depends on what specific drug or behaviour has been tested and possible adverse and side effects of the drug.

I hope this helps.

agree  Daryo: bien trouvé! It's easier to escape through an existing hole - far less muscular effort needed than if you need you make the hole first.
