If the document has been OCRed from a poor-quality PDF file, maybe this could be it. Pure guess. Not one of my favourite subject areas.

Otherwise I would think it is some kind of abbreviation, because there's no other real possibility (the prescribing doctor's initials?).

neutral  Tony M: I can't agree with 'µu', since it's hard to see what exactly the 'u' might be, and our dose is already expressed in mg. I think your PU(I) is more plausible.
