Hi,

A French editor corrected my translation replacing "readings" with "iconographic assessment."
When I research "iconographic assessment" I mainly get art history links and wanted to make sure that this was indeed used in English scientific journals.
The study consisted of surgeons reviewing CT-arthrographies.
The original sentence was: "Deux lectures ont été réalisées à 1 mois d’intervalle."

agree  ZIFKINB: ...:imaging assessment OR simply imaging. This seems to be a title and arthography is an imaging technique so repeating "imaging" would be redundant.

Explanation:
I've never heard of "iconographic results" being used in this context. Even if it is technically right (which I'm not sure is the case), it would be such a rare term that a reader wouldn't necessarily know what the writer meant.

Whereas verbs like "read" "analyse" "view" etc. would be more appropriate in my opinion.

neutral  Daryo: a general rule for ANY specialised text: the ONLY readers that count for the purpose of this translation are the ones in the intended audience meaning that how much Joe Public would or would not understand the text is completely irrelevant.

  -> I worked in radiology departments for years. I don't know any radiologist who would use that term.
agree  Anne Schulz: Nor have I. Reading, interpretation, evaluation... there are many varieties, but "iconographic" has never crossed my path in 30+ years of reading medical English texts.
