same meaning? 06:52 Sep 11, 2020
I'm not entirely sure whether, in a legal context, EN "composition" is used in the same way as FR composition: the EN phrase is often "amiable composition", and (I believe) usually applies when matters have gone to arbitration. It could be that composition has a broader meaning in FR, as per Marco Solinas' "settlement". Bridge does not have an entry for composition, which is slightly surprising, although it does have one for (comme amiable) compositeur: "as mediator; ex aequo et bono; on equitable principles". Which I venture to suggest is no help whatsoever. |
