You're getting back selected output from the dataset.

Problem with 'display' is, that word covers everything shown on the screen or the page, not just the output of interest.

Agree with Jane's "display" being best for most instances and Ana's "bring up" for others. So Jane should put an answer...

In some of the cases, I think you could use "bring up" like:

Pressing the home button twice while on the lock screen will bring up your iPod controls.

Single tap on the screen, will bring up Menu Bar.

In other cases, "display", as suggested by Jane, looks like a perfect choice.

Thank you! I have used display/show for a few of the instances, so thank you for confirming that I am on the right track! I really like your other example as well. I think you are definitely right, I won't be able to translate it the same way every time. I just want to make sure I do understand it properly before I start getting too creative ;) Your examples are extremely helpful. Merci!

Yolanda, that occurred to me, too, but "restore" would usually be used to refer to data/settings/etc that had somehow been deleted or reset, which is definitely not the case here. They talk about having an old system or a new system, so I wonder if it has to do with pulling information from the old system and plugging it into the new system? But that's the best I can come up with and it doesn't always explain the usage. Thanks for your help! I really appreciate it. I have stared at this word for way too long.
