poker machines Explanation: Il s'agit de ces machines à sous, qui jusqu'à présent ne sont pas autorisées dans les bars et cafés en Francie. Les "pokies" sont des machines à mise limitée ( on ne peut y verser qu'un peu d'argent en un coup) et à gain limité (ain't that the truth!). On pourrait les décrire en anglais comme des "small-outlay, small-winnings machines" je suppose. |

Amusement with Prizes (AWP) Explanation: Don't know if it applies to the US etc, it may be uniquely British, but this is the name for the slot machines in public areas such as pubs. The name reflects the idea that they are not for high-stakes gambling.
