The above appears in an instructions manual for a Nintendo DS video game. Could it mean "stood up"?

Un RDV dure 5 minutes ; c'est à dire que le copain va attendre le joueur 5 minutes, pas plus. Par contre, une fois le copain "spawné" pour le RDV, il ne disparaitra pas tant que le joueur ne change pas de GameLevel (c'est à dire, pour simplifier, tant qu'il n'y a pas de fondu au noir).

"Spawn" is basically a synonym for "appear", "pop up" or "materialise" and is often used in RPG and FPS games to refer to weapons, power-ups, NPCs (non-player characters) and other goodies that normally spawn or appear in specific locations. Once you've collected a weapon, etc., it takes a while before that same weapon spawns or appears again in the same place. Hope that makes sense!
