Spinning refers to the reel type -- the reel axis is parallel to the rod and the line is fed out without turning the reel. A bait casting reel has the reel axis perpendicular to the rod and the reel must turn to feed out line. The latter is for heavy fish. Rôder does not imply trolling, which is done with a shorter rod and moving boat with bait at fixed depth. There are plenty of demos in English and French on YouTube.
