@Lisa "OT" is "organisme de titrisation". Thank you for all your suggestions. To be honest, I'm still confused about how the securitisation vehicle can avoid the receivables assigned to it, and I'm unsure as to what "sur les encaissements" means here. I think the parsing suggested by @Cyril is correct, but the sentence is still baffling me.

Je pense que cela confirme plutôt mon impression que la phrase est mal construite, ou en tous cas, que "lui" ne se réfère pas au recouvreur, puisque le recouvreur n'est pas mentionné dans les phrases précédentes.

I don't know if this will help, but the two sentences immediately preceding this one are as follows:

mais je pense qu'il y a vraisemblablement un problème avec cette phrase. Soit le "sur" est en trop, soit il manque quelque chose entre "éviter" et "sur".
Sinon, ce que je ne comprends pas c'est comment les créances peuvent-elles avoir été cédées à l'OT, alors qu'on mentionne justement un recouvreur ?? Est-ce que les créances n'ont pas plutôt été cédées PAR l'OT au recouvreur ? On dirait que toute la phrase est de travers.

éviter is a transitive verb. It's the only option that would make sense… Does this make sense to you?

or pour éviter des créances qui lui ont été cédées sur les encaissements

Tony M: 'evade' cannot be used in this way in such a context; about the only time it comes up is in things like 'tax evasion'! And the rest of the wording of your suggestion is just a non-sense in EN. Just one point of many: 'cédées' is not 'ceased' (= 'cessées)!
