French term or phrase: mesurer la force de désassemblage des éléments par traction
I am working on a document that outlines procedures for checking that components glued together remain properly bonded as they age.
This is done by determining the "force de désassemblage des éléments par traction", which presumably means determining the disassembly force by applying a tensile force to the components that have been bonded together.
Can one say "the disassembly force must be determined by traction"?

e.g I am working on simulating the bond between CFRP and steel on double strap joints . Now I have some problems with defining the parameters of adhesive for *traction separation*.

measure the force it takes to pull the items apart

Explanation:
That's what it means in plain EN!
And no, you can't say 'measure by traction', since in fact, what you need to measure is the 'traction force'— it is not per se the method use for measuring it, simply defining what it is that has to be measured.
