Tech/Engineering - Automation & Robotics / Car paint application line
French term or phrase: ouvrant
This is a text about a car paint application line, does anyone know what these “ouvrants” are called in English, here's how they are used:

Nombre ouvrants portes
Nombre ouvrants capot/coffre

Here's an explanation, but I think that openers is fine....

For example, ****on automotive lines servo-controlled mechanical devices often are used to open doors, hoods and decks so the robot arm and effector can move underneath and/or inside structures for painting, coating or sealant placement.*****

it\'s the device on the robot that enables it to open hoods, doors and trunks.....

so the car can be painted.

Thanks Jane, that was the only logical solution I could come up with but I've not seen ouvrant used like that before, thanks for the reassurance :)
