Flemish term or phrase: dubbele rechten
They are talking about registration of a lease: "De registratiekosten, boetes, en eventuele dubbele rechten zijn ten laste van de huurder". It's a Belgian lease. I have no idea what "double rights" are, but that's what it says. Can someone please explain?

duplicate (rights) fees
Explanation:
"rechten" here usually refers to fees or taxes in the case of real-estate transactions, such as registration fees or possibly notary fees. Sometimes a part of these is for the buyer and another for the seller. Here they seem to specify that all fees (rechten) are for the tenant.

The "rights" that were confusing me were the rights of the government to be paid the fees. Like I say, we don't have lease registration in the US. A lot of these terms and concepts are foreign to me, but I am learning thanks in part to you.

agree  Carl Olsen: Thanks. I guess rechten also means fees. The concept of lease registration is totally foreign to me, but I understand that it's required in Belgium.
